Vespa Arthur Obituary

Vespa Arthur, of Greenfield, Indiana, and Domestic Short-Hair Tuxedo Cat, of Avenn “Ave” Arthur, unexpectedly crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

Vespa was born in 2013 in Greenfield, Indiana. From the age of 13, Vespa was Ave’s sweet girl. Ave recalled a sad time when Vespa disappeared for 6 months. It was during one of the worst winter storms they had ever had. Vespa returned in the spring. “We’d just gotten home from church, and when she saw me from down the road, she ran into my arms. I never lost her again.”

Ave described Vespa’s personality as “angelic” and shared how she “was so kind, she saved my life.” He continued that what he loved most about Vespa was the unconditional love she had for him, and how “ she always licked my tears away when I cried and slept in my arms every night.”

Vespa was a very loving and nurturing girl to all creatures who needed care. Ave relayed that “when it wasn’t me or her kittens she was mothering, it was baby bunnies she brought into the house just to care for them.”

Ave sweetly recalled a favorite memory of Vespa when “she fought her instincts to nest and chose to have her kittens in my arms instead.”

Ave shared Vespa was loving of all creatures, but she was also a lover of all foods as well. She loved cheeseburgers, pizza, and especially doughnuts, relaying that he could “never eat any of those things without her trying to drag my hand to her face to steal a bite.”

Vespa was a laid-back girl. Ave relayed that Vespa really didn’t have any particular favorite toy that she played with, and she didn't mind being bathed as long as she felt the safety of Ave in the bath alongside her. Vespa did not like going on car rides, but she would behave for them.

What Vespa, also lovingly known as “Veppa” or “Veppa Kitty,” loved the most was her favorite person on earth, Ave. Vespa was Ave’s girl from day one. Ave will cherish every memory he has of his sweet girl. Vespa will be sadly missed by Ave, who loved Vespa with all of his heart.

Vespa was greeted after crossing the Rainbow Bridge by Angel, the kitty, and great grandpa Arthur, who preceded Vespa in death. Great Grandpa Arthur will keep a heavenly watch over Vespa and Angel until they reunite with Ave one day.
